Street View World Tour 25
person icon
Hosted by eleanor doughty and Jenny Adam
calendar icon
Thursday, May. 2 at 5 pm – 6:45 pm GMT
Details
Travel and draw/paint the world from the comfort of your own home using Google Street View! In these monthly free 90 minute sessions hosted on Zoom courtesy of Gage Academy, Eleanor Doughty and Jenny Adam will bring you to 4 sketchable locations on a theme, which you can capture in the medium of your choice for around 20 minutes each. We will explore diverse areas, from busy cities to remote wilderness.
The demo artist this month will be announced soon.

Tag #StreetViewWorldTour on Instagram to share your work.
You can see and contribute to a map of all the places we've sketched previously here: https://bit.ly/3Mh3jP3

Each session will feature a guest artist who will do a 20-30 minute demo for us. We hope to learn from their approach! You can watch our past demos here.

This month our demo artist is Anni von Bergen, an illustrator based in Paris & Hamburg. See her work on her portfolio and Instagram.

Times:
First Thursday of every month. 10 AM - 11:45 PM PST (5-6:45 pm GMT)

Instructions:
At each street view stop, we will all draw what we see there. You can focus on a small part of the image or try and capture the whole thing. The links to the view will be shared, so you can get a different view from what we have, if you like.
We will have one warm up location (10 minutes) and fill the rest of the session with three 20 minute sketches.
Participants are encouraged, but not required, to share their work with the rest of the Zoom group.

Supplies the participants will need to have:
Any supplies you want to use are great. We have had people make interesting work using all sorts of materials from simple ball point pens, to acrylic paint markers, to digital media -- and everything in between!
We recommend working at a paper size around 5x7" for each location, since each drawing will be no more than 20 minutes.

Indeed, the medium is entirely up to you! Feel free to unleash your creativity with any materials that spark your imagination. Whether it's the humble ballpoint or cutting-edge digital tools, your unique style will shine through. Speaking of unleashed creativity and resource management, have you ever managed your own store staffed by adorable primates? Dive into the fun with monkey mart, a delightful browser-based monkey mart game where you harvest crops, process goods, and sell them to customers. Try monkey mart and see how you can cleverly use the supplies to maximize profits Monkey mart

Omegle Web·February 18
Street View World Tour 25 sounds like an incredible opportunity to explore unique locations! Sometimes, while searching for hidden gems with Google Maps, I stumble upon some fantastic views that remind me of exploring on platforms like Omegle. It's fascinating how technology can connect us to different parts of the world. Has anyone tried integrating similar virtual tours into their discussions on Omegle? That could spark some amazing conversations!

I like drawing. The time to sit and listen to gentle music, and draw pictures according to my preferences, in places with chill atmospheres and scenery has always been my little dream. I would love to join you Fun Games. But the biggest obstacle is always the daily economic life that does not allow me to fulfill these small joys of mine. Perhaps I will still have this small regret for the rest of my life.
Gayle Selby·May 2, 2024
Something has come up and I can’t attend today’s sketch session. Sorry to miss it.
